I have an office tea routine. I don’t like hot tea, only warm to iced, so I start with a cup half filled with hot to steep, then I top it off with cold to make it drinkable. The red bottle…a one liter Sigg aluminum bottle…is filled with cold water and kept at my desk where I then use it to refill my tea cup. Once the liter is done, I get a new tea bag and do it all over again.
A friend recommended t by Sarah, Inc., an online tea and tisane store that she really liked. I wanted to try some of the flavors first, so I bought the Sarah’s Teaser’s sampler pack.
Tonight I’m enjoying the Chillax Tisane, a chamomile blend with basil, lavender, lemon balm, and kava kava root. The taste was definitely different. Tea seems to be an acquired taste for me, and some of the individual flavors take a little getting used to. This was one of them.
I wasn’t sold on the first cup I had, but I wanted to give it another try and I’m glad I did. I love it the second time around. The taste is warm and refreshing, yet still calming. That’s the only way I know how to explain it. The site warns that it may cause drowsiness. It does relax to the point of sleepiness, but then again, I’ve only drank it before bed time.
I’m going to try some more flavors from this site, including the other ones I received in my sampler.
I didn’t think I liked chamomile tea. Awhile back I bought some Honey Vanilla Chamomile and didn’t really like it hot, though icing it and drinking it cold was pretty good.
I blamed my dislike on the chamomile.
But then I tried some Sweet Dreams, which is a chamomile/mint blend and loved it. And when I went back to the HVC, I found I liked it alot better.
Tonight is straight up chamomile and I’m digging it.
It could be all the tea drinking in general, but it’s fast becoming one of my favorite flavors/blends.
