And the Day Went Mostly As Planned…
The Hobbit was good and I didn’t get a 3D headache.
We didn’t get the game we wanted, as Target was sold out of them. However, we still managed to fit in some Munchkin and an old school round of The Game of Life. I lost at Life (not a euphemism) but continued my reign as Munchkin champion.
Also played a little MTG before the night ended.
Tomorrow is Sunday, which means COMPLETE AND UTTER LAZINESS. Though to be honest, I probably will do a little cleaning. Maybe.
Best thing about tomorrow? It won’t be shadowed by having to go to work on Monday. Whoo!
Long Weekend, Day One
First day of a four day weekend gives me such good feels. On the agenda today:
Shower (it’s what’s needed)
Lunch (I’d like to go somewhere cool, but my best prediction is Taco Bell)
The Hobbit (to watch the movie, not to actually do a Hobbit)
Buying games at Target (yay for gift cards!)
Playing games (because you gotta break them in sometime)
Playing more games (if we’re feeling the card shop tonight)
Knitting (between other bouts of awesomeness)
This is a tentative plan as it’s good to be open to change. Sure, at some point during the weekend I’ll be responsible and clean my house and do something productive. But today, I’m just going to have fun.
Got to scratch my board game itch last night with some Ticket to Ride with friends. I’m highly suggestive, so watching Tabletop is kind of like being offered game crack by Wil Wheaton. J. Felberito won the game, which was cool (I’m a sore loser, but I kept it under control). TtoR is a good game, and I hope to play some more of it soon.
Not to Sound Weird, but…
Last night, I was Wonder Woman. And I helped a PowerPuff girl, Mario, Princess Peach, Bayonetta, and Kangief (?) rescue Diddy Kong from Wario.
Alcohol was involved.
So it wasn’t actually DnD that we played, but Drunken DnD nights are always a good time.
I Love Scary Video Games
But I can’t play them for more than 20 minutes at a time most days. Even if they’re not particularly scary, I get too tense to marathon play.
I still haven’t tackled Silent Hill: Homecoming again. Yeah, you’d think that if something made me so uncomfortable I would just NOT do it. But that wouldn’t be a very “me” thing to do.
I like the scare, I just like it in really small doses.
Ten things about different gaming consoles that you may have lost when you tossed the manual aside. Gibbs breaks it down for us again, and I now know that I can crank up a little Tori Amos with my Darksiders.
My first real knitting project on double pointed needles (dpns), I made this gaming dice bag from stash yarn. It only took a few days to finish, though it’s not perfect. Alot of flaws or quirks (depending on how you look at it). I hate that gold color, so I’m trying to get rid of it, but Felber likes it, so I gave this to him.
Random gaming dice that I thought would make a neat icon for my personal journal site. The picture isn’t the best quality. I’m currently just using my camera phone, which is actually better than my old camera but still not pro level. However, I did figure out that my Photobucket account has some pretty good edit options, so I might actually try my hand at some more homemade icons.
